If you are looking for a fun and eclectic place to shop for unique handmade items this March, one of the best places to visit is the Tower City Arts Festival which coincides with the Cleveland International Film Festival in downtown Cleveland at Tower City Center on Public Square.
The Tower City Arts Festival is run by NorthCoast Promotions, Inc.’s Lisa Nemeth, and was started in 2008 as a benefit for both film festival goers, and regular downtown employees and residents. If you are downtown to watch films, then browsing the artist booths at the art festival is the perfect way to spend time in between movies, and you can take home a souvenir of Cleveland that is one of a kind.
The Tower City Arts Festival can be found inside Tower City Center with booths placed in and around the first or main floor mostly gathered around the main Tower City fountain. Vendors will be open for shopping both weekends of the film festival from 12 to 8 Friday and Saturday, and 12 to 5 on Sunday, as well as a few days during the week.
To give you an idea of what you can look forward to seeing at the Tower City Arts Festival, you can see by this list of vendors that it will be an eclectic mix of items from many different art varieties. Artist vendors will include Lake Erie Artists Gallery, Celebrative Art, Treasures in Glass, Posch and Gulyas Silversmiths, Dragon Fly Designs, Planet Egg, fluxusmetalworks, Grampa’s Woodcrafts, Cheryl Lee Designs, and vendors who are not artists like Cecilia’s Sweet Delights, and omstone Aromas.
Arts Festival visitors will be able to try on beautiful jewelry, taste some yummy treats, as well as find beautiful decorative items for their homes. Vendors will change over the days of the art festival, some will only be there one weekend while others will be there for the entire time of the festival. Definitely a good time to find gifts for friends and family at home, upcoming birthdays, or just because you can’t live without it gifts.
